Shooting this was one of the most wonderful experiences of my life. From Dubai, we travelled to Sri Lanka over 5 days and I’m so happy to be apart of HSBC’s inspiring message that supports Human Ambition.
The auditions started in December 2016, I didn’t get to go home for Christmas that year so I put all my focus to work. There was an audition for “Super Hero Character for a Shoot in Georgia.” The first audition was around 30 minutes. I remember being so excited to go to Georgia in the US. I asked the casting producer so excitedly “,How come your casting here for all the way in Georgia?!” He was like.. erm Georgia in the Middle East?! Not America! I did actually google Georgia Dubai but the only thing that came up on my search was Georgia Salpa! Anyway, my Georgia’n dream didn’t happen, but it turned out better than I even thought would happen. I went to 3 more long auditions and had to film myself cyclying around Dubai Marina. I didn’t think too much about it, I tried not to think about it too much because you go to so many auditions and castings you have to just let it go and if you get the job you get the job, if you don’t you don’t. Whatever will be will be.
Then a week later to my surprise, MixFame called me and said You got the role “You got the role and you fly to Sri Lanka to shoot in 2 days!”
Best. Feeling. Ever.

The 5 days shooting was amazing, the team were so wonderful and we all have a special connection for sharing such an amazing once in a life time experience together. Mark Middlewick is such a talented director and I feel so lucky to be trusted to make his vision come true. We did so much travelling and shooting each day we where shooting for like 20/23 hours. I honestly didn’t even need sleep and I didn’t want to sleep because I didn’t want to miss anything!
Shooting in Sri Lanka really made me see the bigger picture in life. Everybody lives so simple and they are so happy and the people are so warm and welcoming. On a personal level, it took me out of my comfort zone, at this point in my life I always felt like I had to wear makeup, during the whole shoot I was worried because I wasn’t allowed to wear makeup until the last scene and it has really given me the freedom to embrace who I am and to not care anymore, I’ve honestly felt less self-conscious and free after filming this.
Vlog Behind The Scenes
“When you do what you love, you will attract everything you need.”
“Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction ends up being the biggest step of your life, tip toe if you must but take the step.”
In Downtown and The Bike Broke!
The story of the film is so true. Taking a leap of faith when you don’t have any idea how it will work out, can lead to something spectacular and change your life in a completely new direction. Just take the step even when you don’t know what will happen, this is how we discover who we are and what we came here to do.
